From April 2027, pensions count towards the estate

Gifts out of income, evidenced every year.

Your client's documents go in. Heritance sorts them, works out income, spending and gifts, and you seal the year for their executors.

Record-keeping support for gifts out of normal income. Not legal or tax advice.

Illustrative household: Margaret's 2025/26 pack, sealed 14 May 2026 by her adviser, lying on her 2021 gift intent letter. Net income £36,577.78, spending £19,206.44, surplus income £17,371.34, gifts out of income £6,600.00, 38.0% of surplus income.

Why now

Two questions on everyone's mind.

Your clients are asking

"What happens to my pension from April 2027?"

Unused pensions will count towards the estate for inheritance tax. Clients are looking again at how their money passes on, including giving from their income during their lifetime. Every gift made that way needs a record that proves it came from income.

You are asking

"How do I keep my clients happy, and win new business?"

A record kept with you every year is something clients value at each review, and one the whole family will rely on one day. It is also a service you can offer every new client, and one their solicitor and accountant will want to see.

Heritance answers both: the evidence your clients need, built into the review you already hold.

What Heritance does

Drop in the documents. Heritance does the rest.

Client uploads→Heritance sorts→You check→You seal

Multiple document types

Bank and financial provider statements, P60s, pension letters and wills, scanned or PDF. It keeps what matters and sets aside the rest.

People and roles

People, companies and their roles are picked out of the documents automatically: the household and donors, executors and beneficiaries, gift recipients and the bank payments to them, and more.

Gaps flagged

Missing documents, missing months in statements and duplicate information are detected and flagged for your team to reconcile.

Counted once

Income seen on both the P60 and the bank statement counts once, and so does the tax.

Gifts found

Payments to family, or to the charities and trusts your client chooses, are found in the bank statements and bundled into the annual report. You confirm.

Sealed and stored

Once you seal the year, the final report is created. The annual pack, with its documents and the report, is compiled, frozen and stored securely. Your clients can open their own annual packs.

Why it can make a difference

The claim is made after death, by someone who wasn't there.

An afternoon in 2026

The gift

Margaret gives her granddaughter £6,000 towards a first flat, out of her pension income.

An afternoon in 2033

The questions

Her son, now her executor, must rebuild seven years of her income and spending. The statements are gone. Gifts that qualified can end up taxed at 40%.

With Heritance

Seven sealed years

The evidence is already on your file, one annual review at a time. Her son opens it. The questions are answered.

We keep the evidence while it's easy to keep.

For your firm

A service your clients can see.

Clients who stay, and new ones

Every review ends with another sealed year your client can hold. And a service to offer every new client.

Your clients sign in too

Each client can see their record, add documents and message you. Each of a couple sees only their own and joint records.

Built to be inspected

Every figure has its source, every judgement a name and a date. It reads the way a file reviewer wants a gifting file to read.
